Location

Description:

Departure at 9:00 AM from Stonetown Beach. You will board our small local boats, accompanied by our guide and captain. The first stop will be Prison Island to learn about the history of this place and see the giant tortoises. Recently, feeding the tortoises has been prohibited, but efforts have been made to preserve their habitat, so we’ve added it back to the itinerary. Next, we’ll head to Nakupenda Bis Sandbank for a relaxing swim. You will enjoy a delicious seafood barbecue prepared right on the spot, featuring grilled lobsters, fresh fish, crispy fries, salad, and fresh fruit. You’ll have lunch sitting on cushions under a shaded canvas. Afterward, enjoy the sun, the crystal-clear waters, and the local atmosphere as the captains cook together and dance. A wonderful experience!

WHAT TO WEAR

For your Mnemba Island excursion, we recommend wearing comfortable and beach-friendly attire. A swimsuit worn under light, breathable clothing is ideal, along with quick-dry shorts or a beach cover-up. Flip flops or water shoes are perfect for getting on and off the boat with ease. Don’t forget sun protection—bring a hat or cap, UV-protective sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen. It’s also a good idea to pack a towel, a change of clothes for after the trip, and a waterproof bag to keep your phone and valuables safe. If you have a waterproof camera or GoPro, bring it along to capture the highlights of your day!
